Physiology

Paresthesia

Also: Tingling

Sensations such as tingling, pins and needles, or numbness, often in the hands, feet, or around the mouth. During intensive breathing they are commonly linked to lower carbon dioxide and changes in blood chemistry and usually ease when breathing slows. Chest pain, severe cramping, or symptoms that do not settle call for medical attention.
