Pursed-lip breathing
German: Lippenbremse, Lippenbremse-Atmung
Breathing in through the nose and out slowly through gently pursed lips, as if blowing out a candle. It is used in clinical settings, for example with chronic lung disease, to slow the breath and ease shortness of breath. It is simple, gentle and a good example of a technique with a clear practical purpose.
