Pendulation

A concept from Somatic Experiencing (Peter Levine) describing a gentle movement of attention back and forth between a difficult sensation or emotion and something that feels neutral or supportive. The aim is to approach intensity in small amounts and return to steadiness. It is used alongside titration and resourcing, and evidence from controlled studies is still limited.
